The Highway Cassification seminar covers all highway construction activities, including, but not limited to: highway grading, paving of all types, installation of exterior artificial athletic surfaces, relocation of public and private utility lines ancillary to the principal project, bridge construction and repair, parking decks, sidewalks, curbs, gutters and storm drainage. It also includes installation and erection of guardrails, fencing, signage and ancillary highway hardware; covers paving and grading of airport and airfield runways, taxiways, and aprons, including the installation of signage, runway lighting and marking; and includes the work done under the specialty classifications of (S) Boring and Tunneling, (S) Concrete Construction, (S) Marine Construction and (S) Railroad Construction.
Our Highway Classification seminar will prepare you to take and pass the highway exam on your first attempt. The Construction Institute's student's pass rate is in the high 90 percentile on the first attempt. The highway classification exam consists of 90 multiple choice quesions and examinees have 4 hours in which to complete this exam. You must answer 63 questions correctly in order to obtain a passing score of 70%
All our Highway Classification seminars are from 8:00AM to 5:30PM with an hour for lunch and are offered once a month at our training facility located at 10737 Independence Pointe Pkwy, Suite 103 in Matthews, NC. You will need the Contractor's Guide to Business Law & Project Mgmt. (6th Edition), OSHA handbook of construction industry regulations, CAMA Handbook for Development of Coastal North Carolina, and Construction Planning, Equipment & Methods.
