A North Carolina General Contractors License, Public Utilities Classification, covers the installation of all types of pole lines; aerial and underground distribution cable for lines; aerial and underground distribution cable for telephone systems; aerial and underground distribution cable for Cable TV and Master Antenna TV Systems capable of transmitting R.F. signals; underground conduit and communication cable including fiber optic cable; microwave systems and towers, including foundations and excavations where required when the microwave systems are being used for the purpose of transmitting R.F. signals; and installation of PCS or cellular telephone towers and sites.
Our Public Utilities seminar will prepare you to take and pass the exam on your first attempt. The Public Utilities exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions and examinees have 4 hours in which to complete this exam. You must answer 70 questions correctly in order to obtain a passing score of 70%
The Public Utilities seminars are from 8:00AM to 5:30PM with an hour for lunch and are offered once a month at our training facility located at 10737 Independence Pointe Pkwy, Suite 103 in Matthews, NC. You will need the Contractor's Guide to Business Law & Project Mgmt. (6th Edition), OSHA handbook of construction industry regulations, the Lineman's & Cableman's Handbook, Concrete Pipe Installation Manual, Installation of Ductile Iron Pipe Manual and Recommended Practices for Installation of Aboveground Storage Systems for Motor Vehicle Refueling (RP200). Your Public Utilities Study Guide will be given to you at the seminar. Our tuition for the Public Utilities seminar is $425.00.
