The class outline is as follows:
-
Hours are 8 - 5 with 10 minute breaks and a 1 hour lunch. *
-
4 hour elective CE - LRI's, Inspection Best Practices, Top Defects in Wood Frame Construction
-
2 hour elective CE - NC Crawlspace Requirements (wall vented vs closed crawl)
-
2 hour NC Licensing Board Mandatory Course
* For inspectors who are not also licensed general contractors, class hours are 8-3.

Our instructors are either currently or have been Mecklenburg County Building Inspectors. We realize one of the major disconnects in the building industry is the relationship between code officials and contractors. As being contractors for many years, we have learned that the knowledge of the code is power and that knowledge helps us navigate through the permitting and inspection process.

Our 6 hours of elective classes include...
LRI's, Inspection Best Practices, top defects in wood frame construction, and NC crawlspace requirements
In our 4hr elective course we cover how to use the new Live Remote Inspection (LRI) option for your commercial and residential building inspections as well as the best practices and pro-active steps to ensure you are ready to expedite a successful building inspection. We will also cover the top defects in wood frame construction to help you decrease your framing inspection failures and decrease time loss due to multiple framing inspections. Our 2hr course will review the history of crawlspaces from dirt floors to the current code on wall vented and closed crawlspace options. One of our instructors, Jeff Griffin, serves on the State Ad Hoc Committee helping to develop the codes in NC. Because of his background with the codes and his years as a Code Enforcement Manager for a NC county municipality he is able to offer valuable insight to the world of inspections.
